Most of us know what it feels like to have stubborn pockets of fat or loose flaps of skin that simply do not respond to diet and exercise. In fact, these areas often emerge as a result of extensive weight loss, resulting in a few isolated areas of skin laxity. There are a number of treatment options that can be used to address these areas, including surgical and non-surgical methods alike.

If you are not ready for surgical intervention, you might consider BodyTite. BodyTite is a radiofrequency energy device that is inserted under the skin, similar to liposuction. This revolutionary technology tightens skin without the need for surgery, scars, or a prolonged recovery.

Dr. Gandolfi and his team are pleased to provide BodyTite in New York City, as a stand-alone procedure or in conjunction with liposuction for enhanced results.

BodyTite of Arms and Upper Back

Why People Decide to Get BodyTite

BodyTite is a popular option among patients dealing with mild to moderate excess skin who wish to get the best possible results without making a large incision. Specifically, BodyTite (and its sister products FaceTite® and AccuTite®) can be powerful tools to target the following areas:

  • The abdomen
  • Arms
  • Inner thighs
  • Breasts
  • Face (FaceTite)
  • Front bra rolls
  • Neck (FaceTite)
  • Upper back
  • Lower back
  • Chest area
  • Eyes

We recommend BodyTite if you have a healthy and stable body weight and live a healthy, active lifestyle. It is a good option if you have a BMI of 30 or less and have realistic expectations about what you can achieve through the treatment.

Your Initial Consultation

Your BodyTite journey will begin with an initial phone call with a member of our team to discuss your medical history and aesthetic goals, and to schedule your consultation. Your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Gandolfi will usually last 30 minutes, and may include a physical examination, a review of medical images, and a discussion of what the treatment can do for you.

Another important benefit of the consultation is that it provides a chance for you to set your aesthetic goals. Based on the body contouring effects you hope to achieve, Dr. Gandolfi will customize a plan for you, including BodyTite and other modalities to help you reach your goals.

What to Expect from the BodyTite Procedure

BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed while you are either awake or asleep. If you have excess fat, we recommend pairing BodyTite with liposuction for the best results. If you choose to have BodyTite on its own, we will typically use a topical numbing agent.

Once you arrive at our NYC facility, our team will help prepare you for the procedure. Dr. Gandolfi will start by creating tiny access points near the treatment area. These are much smaller than normal surgical incisions, and once they heal, they do not leave any scarring. Dr. Gandolfi will carefully insert a thin metal probe into these access points, also known as a cannula. This cannula emits radiofrequency (RF) energy, which breaks down unwanted fat deposits and stimulates the production of skin-tightening collagen, without damage to healthy tissues.

BodyTite can provide remarkable aesthetic results by melting away fat while simultaneously tightening the skin. When paired with liposuction, it provides elevated results that are beautiful and natural-looking.

The duration of a BodyTite treatment can vary depending on the area you are treating. For a single area, you can anticipate a procedure time of roughly 20 to 30 minutes.

Recovery After Your BodyTite Procedure

Following BodyTite, you can anticipate some mild discomfort. Usually, this pain is easily managed with over-the-counter remedies, such as ibuprofen, and will subside on its own after just a couple of days. You will also be encouraged to rest from strenuous exercise, giving yourself at least five to 10 days to recover.

While some preliminary results may be evident pretty quickly, the results will continue to improve over the course of a year, thanks to the production of new collagen. This means that your results should get better and better over time!
